While some may celebrate the days leading to Christmas with an Advent calendar, Santa Fe Brewing Co. is commemorating the days leading up to the holiday a different way.
Starting on Dec. 12 and continuing every day until Dec. 24 other than Sundays, the Santa Fe, N.M.-based brewery will be releasing a new beer that showcases unique beers inspired by the holidays that were created by friends, family, employees and home brewers. The event was conceived as a part of the brewery’s Small Batch Saturday event, a program that shares the art of brewing craft beer by opening its doors to both experienced and novice home brewers every Saturday.
“The Small Batch Saturday Program was developed to give both the assistant brewers and the local homebrewing community an opportunity to be creative at the brewery,” said a press release. “Many of us at the Santa Fe Brewing Co. started out as amateur beer lovers brewing myriad concoctions at home. In fact the creativity, and closeness with your brew, that small batch offers is still something that many of us treasure.”
According to the press release, some of the beers to be released include The Biscochito Stout, Saffron Tripel and the Catz Pajamaz Chai Porter.
This is the fourth consecutive year that the Twelve Days of Christmas event has occurred and all beers that are being sold are draft-only releases with no plans to distribute outside of the brewery.
