For Lakewood Brewing Co., another anniversary means another Lion’s Share release.
The Garland, Texas-based brewery posted some photos on it’s Facebook page showing the brewing of Lion’s Share III, a series of releases that are made specifically for its anniversary every August. The brewery opened its doors in August 2012 and recently held a grand opening to commemorate a 14,000-square-foot expansion, including a new taproom and production space.
Previous incarnations of the the Lion’s Share series have included Lion’s Share, a 9.8 percent ABV Belgian-style IPA aged in oak barrels with brettanomyces released in 2013 and Lion’s Share II, a 3.6 percent ABV Berliner Weisse aged in wine barrels with black currants released in 2014.
Lakewood Brewery declined to comment on specifics, but the photo shows that the beer incorporates maris otter malts from the United Kingdom.
