One of Jester King’s first sour beers to incorporate fruit is being rereleased this weekend.
The Austin, Texas-based brewery posted on its Facebook page that there will be approximately 5,000 bottles (500ml, $16 each) of Aurelian Lure available when the beer goes on sale on Oct. 9. This is the third batch of the barrel-aged sour beer brewed with pilsner and wheat malt as well as golding hops before being refermented with apricots from Blossom Hill in California. The beer was bottled on August 11.
“The base beer is a blend of many different batches of Das Uberkind, which aged in barrels from a range of 8-24 months,” said Crowell, in an email to Tenemu. “These barrels were racked into a foudre on top of the apricots and re-fermented for several weeks before packaging.”
This is the third batch of Aurelian Lure Jester King has bottled, with batch one having been released in October 2013 and batch two in September 2014. There were approximately 400 bottles of batch one and 2,700 bottles of batch 2 sold.
According to a post on Jester King’s Facebook page, Aurelian Lure is packaged in 500ml bottles ($16) and will be sold starting Oct. 9 with a limit of two per person per day.
