Founders Brewing Co. has announced that reDankulous, a 9.5 percent ABV imperial red IPA brewed with caramalt and roasted barley as well as chinook, mosaic and simcoe hops will be the thirteenth release in the its Backstage Series.
“We love hops,” said Dave Engbers, Founders co-founder and president, in a press release . “Simple as that. Our brewers love to experiment with new varieties, new combinations and new techniques. This dank beer is a fun, intense showcase of hops. We hope all of you hop heads out there enjoy it.”
The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based brewery’s Backstage Series consists of “boundary-pushing, experimental beers” that (are) meant to “take the diehard Founders fan experience to a wider audience.” The new imperial red IPA is also the second Backstage release in 2015 following Blushing Monk (9.2 percent ABV) in March. According to the brewery, there will be one more Backstage Series beer before the end of year.
As with the rest of the Backstage Series releases, reDankulous will be packaged in 750ml bottles ($9.99) and will be avialbile across Founders entire distribution network starting on Aug. 31.
