Ecliptic Brewing and Cigar City Brewing have collaborated for the second time.

The resulting beer is Ellipsing The Sun, a 9 percent ABV ale brewed with lemon drop and calypso hops as well as peaches, apricots, lemon and juniper before being aged in sauvignon blanc wine barrels for four months. The new beer was brewed at Portland, Ore.-based Ecliptic Brewing, and all of the ingredients used in the beer are native to the home states of both breweries.

The two breweries first collaborated in 2013 on Illuminating The Path, a 10 percent ABV American strong ale brewed at Tampa, Fla.-based Cigar City with rose hips, marionberries, hibiscus and acai berries before being aged in pinot noir wine barrels.

According to a post on Ecliptic’s Facebook page, Ellipsing The Sun will be packaged in 22-ounce bottles and will be released today at Tin Bucket in Portland, Ore.
