Toppling Goliath Brewing Co.’s most popular double IPA may be getting a hopped-up variant.
According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the Decorah, Iowa-based brewery will be canning Double Dry-Hop King Sue, a double IPA brewed with Citra hops before being packaged in 500ml bottles. As the name indicates, it will be a variant of the brewery’s King Sue, a 8 percent ABV double IPA that debuted in 2014.
Like another of Toppling Goliath’s IPAs named Pseudo Sue, King Sue is a collaboration with The Field Museum in Chicago and is named after Sue, the famous 40-foot long Tyrannosaurus rex fossil that is on display in the museum.
An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not returned.
