TERRAPIN RELEASES MIDNIGHT MONK

Terrapin Brewing Co. has added another beer to its fall lineup, Midnight Monk, a new Belgian-style black IPA. The new 9.8 percent ABV beer from the Athens, Ga. brewery uses six different malts, and five different hops and is then dry hopped with Amarillo, Simcoe, and Cascade hop.

“For this brew, brewmaster Brian “Spike” Buckowski takes the yeast and malt bill of a traditional Belgian Tripel and hops it up like an American Imperial IPA to create a truly transcendental experience,” said a Terrapin press release.

“The addition of dark malts lends a toasty smoothness that beautifully counters the big, complex flavor and aroma of the hops and yeast to produce a deceptively quaffable high-gravity brew.”

Midnight Monk is the newest in Terrapin’s Monster Beer Tour line of seasonal beers, which also includes Wake ‘N’ Bake coffee oatmeal stout, Hopzilla double IPA, and Rye Cubed triple rye IPA.

The new release is shipping now and is available in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles and one-sixth-barrel kegs throughout Terrapin’s distribution network in the southeast and eastern areas of the country.
