Lakewood, N.Y.-based Southern Tier Brewing has announced a new release in its 2x series of beers, the 2xpresso, a 7.5 percent ABV double milk stout brewed with espresso and lemon peel.
The blend is based on its popular 2XStout and uses ale yeast, two different varieties of hops and three different types of malts while measuring a moderate 55 IBU.
“Our 2xStout is considered by many to be a perfect milk stout,” said the brewery in a press release. “We started with that in mind, and added espresso beans and lemon peels for a true Italian style pick-me-up.
The result is a stout so black, so rich, so creamy, it’d be at home in a café along a cobblestone street in some neighborhood in Rome. Yet, it’s beer.”
According to Southern Tier Brewing, the 2Xpresso will be released sometime in the early winter and will be available in 12-ounce bottles sold in six-packs, distributed in 24-count cases, and on draft.
