This weekend, Oskar Blues Brewery will be releasing the newest addition in its series of “over-the-top Death By beers.”
That creation is Death By Flapjacks, a 6.5 percent ABV English porter brewed with lactose, lemon peel, nutmeg, maple syrup, vanilla, and “natural flavors.”
The Longmont, Colo.-based brewery has used the Death By moniker in the past, namely for Death By Coconut, a 6.5 percent ABV Irish porter brewed with coconut and pure liquid cacao made from cacao, water, and coconut sugar that was sourced from Boulder-based Cholaca that debuted in 2014 and Death By Coffee, a 6.5 percent ABV porter brewed with coffee.
“Brewing a pancake beer makes it all the more socially acceptable for me to never turn down a beer with breakfast when it’s offered,” said Juice Drapeau, head brewer at Oskar Blues, in a press release.
“The lactose and maple combination makes Death By Flapjacks a completely unique drinking experience great for early mornings and late nights or when late nights become early mornings.”
According to a post on Oskar Blues’ website, Death by Flapjacks will be available at retailers nationwide packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce cans starting on June 20.
