There is a new collaboration in the works, this time between Nashville, Tenn.-based Yazoo Brewing Co. and Jackie O’s Pub & Brewery of Athens, Ohio.
In an email, Brandon Jones, director of funk at Yazoo, told Tenemu that the new beer was brewed with unspecified spices and “is influenced by Belgian Dark Strong” style ales. In addition, the finished brew will age in fresh barrels from Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Chattanooga Whiskey for “probably a year.”
“The beer tells us when it’s ready,” he added.

According to Jones, the as yet unnamed beer was brewed Monday at Yazoo with Jackie O’s head brewmaster Brad Clark, and while a final decision has not been made, the beer will be packaged in “mostly bottles” and distributed throughout Tennessee and Mississippi.
