Wicked Weed Brewing’s new release proves that you can drink your beer and enjoy desert at the same time.
The beer is Milk & Cookies, an 8.5 percent ABV imperial milk stout brewed with golden raisins, cinnamon and vanilla. The Asheville, N.C.-based brewery teased the brewing of the beer on Nov. 18 when it mentioned “how dark the wort is” and the fact that “there are golden raisins in the brew house today.”
“Milk & Cookies Stout transports us to our childhood kitchens where freshly baked cinnamon-raisin cookies warmed us against winter nights and familiar grandparent voices permeate the sounds of the night,” reads the beer label. “Hints of cold milk, sweet vanilla, and hearty oatmeal overwhelm and remind us that our memories are forever lead by our senses. In this case, we are led home.”
Milk & Cookies was first released as a draft-only option in late December 2013 at Wicked Weed’s second anniversary event.
According to Erin Jones, spokesperson with Wicked Weed, Milk & Cookies will be packaged in 500ml bottles and will be released at the brewery on Dec. 5 before being available at retailers starting the week of Dec. 7.
