Later this month, Wicked Weed Brewing will be releasing two new versions of one of its most unique creations.

The beers are Dark Arts 2016, a 15 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with brettanomyces that has been aged in rum barrels sourced from Nicaragua for 12 months and Espresso Dark Arts 2016, which is the same beer with the addition of espresso from Mountain Air Roasting in  Asheville, N.C. This is the third year in a row that Dark Arts has been released after the imperial stout debuted in 2014, although that incarnation was aged in bourbon barrels, while last year’s release was aged in Blue Agave tequila barrels.

According to a post on the Asheville, N.C.-based brewery’s Instagram account, both Dark Arts 2016 as well as a “fairly small amount” of Espresso Dark Arts 2016 will be packaged in 500ml bottles and will be released at the Funkatorium on Oct. 21.
