According to labels filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Wicked Weed Brewing is working on a new version of their previously released Dark Age, an imperial stout aged in oak bourbon barrels. This new variety will be once again aged in bourbon barrels, but with the addition of coffee.

The 11.8 percent ABV bourbon barrel-aged stout conditioned on coffee will be part of the Ashville, N.C.-based brewery’s specialty series, which is made up of their various barrel-aged and seasonal beers. 

A coffee variant of this beer has been released once before with Cuban coffee on draft, but the newest version will be using Black Balsam coffee from Mountain Air Roasting, a local Ashville roastery, and will be available in 375ml bottles.
