La Mûre Morte will be the fourth addition to Wicked Weed Brewing’s Morte Series bottled for 2016. In an email to Tenemu, Alanna Nappi, marketing operations and event director for Wicked Weed, confirmed La Mûre will come in 500ml bottles and sport 6.4 percent ABV.

According to a Facebook post by Wicked Weed, the Morte Series is a tribute to old-world belgian style beers. Previous beers in the series have used up to four pounds of fresh fruit per gallon and have been aged as long as 24 months in neutral white wine barrels. In the case of La Mûre, the fruit being incorporated is blackberries.

Wicked Weed debuted the Morte Series at the grand opening of its Funkatorium in October 2014.

So far this year, the brewery has released three bottled versions of Morte Series beers at the Funkatorium in Asheville, N.C.:

  • Cerise Morte — 6.1 percent ABV — May
  • Kiwi Morte — 6.1 percent ABV— July
  • Framboos — 6.6 percent ABV — October
  • La Mûre Morte — 6.4 percent ABV

In an email, Nappi confirmed that the one case per customer limit for previous releases will apply to sales of La Mûre, but declined to comment on a release date or pricing.
