An upcoming release from Wicked Weed Brewing is inspired by the Indian subcontinent.
The beer in question is Khatta Masala, a 7.2 percent ABV “American sour ale” conditioned on mangos, cardamom, coriander, black pepper and fenugreek before being aged in red wine barrels. The various barrels are then blended together to “attain the perfect resonance” before being bottled.
Khatta Masala—which translates to sour spices—will be the newest addition to Wicked Weed’s Canvas Series, which is a series of different barrel-aged beers that are released periodically throughout the year.
According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Khatta Masala will be packaged in 500ml bottles. An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
