After one year aging in barrels, Westbrook Brewing Co.’s newest beer has been released.
Grand-Mére is a 9.5 percent ABV strong ale that aged in cognac barrels for 12 months before being conditioned on 300 pounds of fresh oranges. The beer was originally released last month on draft at the Mt. Pleasant, S.C.-based brewery’s taproom.
According to Westbrook, Grand-Mére is packaged in 22-ounce bottles ($10) and is on sale at the brewery now.
