Westbrook Brewing Co. is turning eight this year and is celebrating the best way a brewery knows how: by releasing a special beer.

This year, the choice is 8th Anniversary Pecan Cookie Stout, a 9 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with candi syrup and roasted malts before being conditioned on roasted pecans, “winter spices” and vanilla.

This is the eighth year the Mt. Pleasant, S.C.-based brewery has released an anniversary beer since the popular Mexican Cake was produced for its first anniversary in 2011, with past releases including 6th Anniversary Hazelnut Chocolate Imperial Stout in 2016, 5th Anniversary Chocolate Raspberry Imperial Stout in 2015 and Orange Bliss in 2013.

According to a post on Westbrook’s Facebook page, 8th Anniversary Pecan Cookie Stout Imperial Stout is packaged in 22-ounce bottles ($10) and is available at the brewery now. In addition, bottles are schleulded to ship to retailers “possibly next week.”
