One of Westbrook Brewing Co.’s most popular creation lines may soon have an “inevitable” bigger brother.
According to a label filed with Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the Mount Pleasant, S.C.-based brewery is working on releasing Four Claw, a 10.5 percent ABV triple IPA that will be packaged in 16-ounce cans. Westbrook originally released the 5.5 percent ABV rye pale ale known as One Claw in 2013, and it has since become a year-round release packaged in 12-ounce cans.
Next came Two Claw, a “hopped up hazy IPA version” of One Claw that weighs in at 7 percent ABV and features the addition of Azacca, Galaxy and Mosaic hops. Finally, Three Claw is an 8 percent double IPA brewed with a “generous application” of wheat and flaked oats in the mash as well asa “copious amounts” of Azacca, Citra, and El Dorado hops.
An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
