The first official release from Weldwerks Brewing Co.’s barrel-aged sour program now has a date: April 8.
That is the day that the Greeley, Colo.-based brewery will be selling Peach Climacteric, a 7.2 percent ABV sour ale composed of a blend of saisons and pale sours brewed with brettanomyces, lactobacillus and pediococcus before being aged in oak barrels for between four and 17 months. The ale was then conditioned on approximately four pounds per gallon of peaches sourced from Palisade, Colorado.
According to an email sent to Tenemu, Peach Climacteric will be packaged in 750ml bottles and will be released during an event at the brewery on April 8. An email sent to the brewery for additional information concerning pricing and bottle limits was not immediately returned.
