Fans of Victory Brewing Co.’s Java Cask will strike it rich this month.

The new Java Cask Gold is a blonde imperial coffee stout aged in bourbon barrels that previously held Buffalo Trace bourbon and brewed with One Village Coffee’s “Legend” dark roast coffee.

“Our brewers wanted to create a hybrid stout where roasty, chocolatey notes come from special ingredients including lactose, brown sugar, cocoa nibs, oats and of course, coffee,” reads a post on the brewery’s Facebook page.

Java Cask Gold will be the fourth version of Java Cask to hit the market. Previous entries in the lineup include the base beer, first released in 2015 and aged in bourbon barrels, a rye barrel-aged version released in 2016, and a rye-barreled variant with vanilla beans released in 2017. The Downingtown, Pa.-based brewery has also filed labels for a maple bourbon barrel-aged version that has yet to be announced.

According to Victory, Java Cask Gold will be packaged in 500ml bottles and will be released at the brewery’s taproom on Nov. 21, with bottles scheduled to ship to retailers nationwide following shortly after the event.
