Victory Brewing Co. has shipped its newest Blackboard Series beer.
Coming in at 5.2 percent ABV, Berliner Weisse with Elderflower is a wheat ale brewed with hallertauer hallertau hops as well as elderflower, and is packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles ($9.99.)
The new beer is the second Blackboard Series beer from Victory to be released so far this year, following Agave IPA with Grapefruit (7 percent ABV) which was released in January and Dry-Hopped Brett Pils (5.5 percent ABV) which was released in April. A forth release in the series, Oatmeal Porter with Hazelnut, will be available from October-December.
According to the Downington, Pa.-based brewery, the Blackboard Series is an opportunity for Victory Brewing Co. to allow its brewers to creatively experiment with seasonal ingredients and beer styles. The name is an homage to those restaurants who frequently feature blackboard specials that showcase local or fresh and seasonal ingredients. The Victory Blackboard series releases a new beer every three months and rotates packaging between draft and bottle.
Berliner Weisse with Elderflower is now available across Victory’s entire distribution network through December.
