Twisted Pine Brewing Co. has incorporated cucumbers and carrots into some of its beers, and now it is a fruits turn.
The newest beer from the Boulder, Colo.-based brewery is Bramble On, a 6.5 percent ABV Belgian-style blonde ale brewed with boysenberries.
“Start with a sun-drenched meadow and lush tangles of prickly vines,” reads the beer label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). “Dewdrops clinging to creeping thorns and happy campers with juice-staned fingers. Now picture thick hoses snaked across a concrete floor while happy brewers pick ripe samples from stainless steel tanks and pass glasses around for all to share. See what we did there? That’s how you analogy.”
Bramble On is the third release in Twisted Pine’s Farm to Foam Series, which features beers that rely solely on Colorado-grown ingredients. The series also includes Cucumber Cream Ale (6.5 percent ABV), an ale brewed with cucumbers and crystal hops and Roots Revival Carrot (6.9 percent ABV), an IPA brewed with carrots as well as crystal and cascade hops.
According to Justin Tilotta, spokesman for Twisted Pine, Bramble On will be packaged in 22-ounce bottles and will be released “next spring.” In addition, the blonde ale will be one of three different Farm to Foam series releases in 2016, joining Home Slice, a “cucumber field beer” and the rerelease of Roots Revival.
