For the second time in seven days, Turning Point Beer will be releasing a brand new barrel-aged sour ale.
Calibrate The Virus is a 7.7 percent ABV mix-culture Oud Bruin-style ale that has been aged in Cabernet Sauvignon wine barrels for 20 months. This will be the second barrel-aged sour ale that the Bedford, Texas-based brewery has released in a week, after it debuted Wildish Gambino last Tuesday, a 6.9 percent ABV Belgian-inspired Flanders Red ale that has been aged between 18-20 months in red wine barrels.
In addition, Turning Point is planning on releasing Calibrate The Virus With Plums “later this summer”, which will be the same Oud Bruin-style base ale that has been conditioned on plums.
According to a post on Turning Point’s Facebook page, Calibrate The Virus is packaged in 500ml bottles ($12) that are scheduled to be released on June 16 exclusively at the brewery.
