Turning Point Beer is releasing a brand new sour beer tomorrow brewed with a very sweet ingredient that might remind some fans of their childhood days.
The first new beer is Dronez, an 8.3 percent ABV imperial Berliner weisse-style ale that has been conditioned on “approximately one bazillion” watermelon flavored Jolly Rancher candy pieces.
The Garland, Texas-based brewery has released a number of beers brewed with candy in the past, including Glitter Boyz II Men, a sour ale brewed with berry skittles and edible glitter and Party Boys, a sour ale brewed with 150 pounds of blue raspberry sour straw candy.
In addition, Turning Point will be releasing Kama Citra, a brand new 7.4 percent ABV single-hop IPA made entirely with Citra hops.
According to a post on Turning Point’s Facebook page, both Dronez and Kama Citra will be packaged in 16-ounce cans when they go on sale exclusively at the brewery on Aug. 16.
