Trillium Brewing Co. and Prairie Artisan Ales have combined their talents for a new release.

The beer in question is TrillBOMB!, an 11 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with ancho chilis, brown sugar, coffee and vanilla. As the name suggests, the new imperial stout is a blend of Trillium’s Night & Day imperial stout grist and the spices that Prairie uses in its Bomb! imperial stout (12 percent ABV.)

This is the second time that Prairie’s Bomb! ingredients have been combined with another base beer to produce a new release, after the adjusts were added to Evil Twin Brewing’s Even More Jesus (12 percent ABV) to produce Bible Belt (12 percent ABV) in 2014.

According to a post on Trillium’s website, TrillBOMB! is packaged in 750ml bottles ($16) and is being released today at the brewery with a limit of three bottles per person and approximately 650 cases available, although no bottles will be sold at Prairie. In addition, the post indicates that a portion of the base beer is being aged in bourbon barrels for a future release.
