Trillium Brewing Co.’s Soak Series of sour wheat ales now has a new member.

The Boston-based brewery has released Black Currant Soak, a 6.3 percent ABV American sour wheat ale aged in oak barrels and conditioned on black currants. As the name suggests, the ale is part of Trillium’s Soak Series, which is “loosely inspired by the cold-maceration process used in winemaking, (where) we blend fruit directly into the barrels to “soak” for enhanced extraction of unique colors, aromatics, and flavors,” according to the brewery’s website.

Black Currant Soak is available at both of the brewery’s Canton and Fort Point locations packaged in 11.2-ounce bottles ($7.05) and has a four bottle per person purchase limit.
