Trillium Brewing Co. is releasing yet another imperial stout inspired by a dessert, but this time there are two collaborators.
Nanaimo is a 13.6 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with chocolate, coconut, 750 pounds of graham cracker in the mash, lactose and vanilla that was a joint effort with Toronto-based Bellwoods Brewery and New York-based Evil Twin Brewing. The new stout was inspired by a dessert bar named after the city of Nanaimo, British Columbia on Vancouver Island.
Trillium has collaborated with breweries in the past to release dessert-inspired stouts, including Affogato and Tiramisu with J. Wakefield Brewing as well as Coconut Pecan Pie with Perennial Artisan Ales.
According to a post on Trillium’s Twitter page, Nanaimo is packaged in 22-ounce bottles ($18.05) and will have a three bottles per person limit purchase limit and can be purchased at either of the brewery’s two locations when it is released today.
