The Christmas holiday just became a little sweeter for fans of Toppling Goliath Brewing Co.

That is because the Decorah, Iowa-based brewery will be releasing the final of its quadfecta of famous stout releases in December, namely Kentucky Brunch Brand Stout (KBBS) 2018, an imperial stout brewed with coffee aged in bourbon barrels that debuted in 2012. The stout was last seen in 2017, when it was packaged with the brewery’s Assassin barrel-aged imperial stout (12 percent ABV) and sold to 1,000 winners of an online lottery.

In an email to Tenemu, Toppling Goliath founder Clark Lewey said this year’s version of KBBS will be released on Dec. 15 packaged in hand-waxed and hand-numbered 12-ounce bottles that will carry a retail price of $100 each. There will be between 800-1,000 bottles available, “depending on how efficient packaging goes,” and a limit of one bottle per person.

There will be three different sessions available to ticket holders:

  • Session One: 9-10:30 a.m.
  • Session Two: 11-12:30 p.m.
  • Session Three: 1:30-3 p.m.

In addition, ticket holders will be able to purchase one 22-ounce bottle of the base beer Morning Delight for $40 each, a 12 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with coffee and maple syrup that was first released as a draft-only option in 2011 and was last sold in August.

According to a post on Toppling Goliath’s Twitter page, tickets for the release event will go on sale at this link on Nov. 13 at 11 a.m. CST, and each guest will only be able to purchase one ticket to one session. Finally, there will be no proxies allowed.
