Toppling Goliath Brewing Co. has joined forces with the Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum and Heritage Center to release a brand new IPA.

That beer is Valkyrie Strike, an IPA brewed with the heritage Norwegian yeast strain Kevik, while the label art was designed by local tattoo artist Brock Swenson. The new IPA is being released to commemorate the opening of Vesterheim’s brand new tattoo exhibit named Tattoo: Identity through Ink, which opens on June 1 at the Vesterheim and will “celebrate both the serious and sensational ways body art reverberates in our lives.”

According to a post on Toppling Goliath’s Facebook page, Valkyrie Strike IPA will be released on draft and in bottles during an event at the brewery on May 18, which will feature sneak previews of the tattoo exhibit, a short presentation by representatives from the museum and a tattoo competition. Bottles of the IPA will then sold exclusively at the Toppling Goliath taproom and the Vesterheim Museum Store for only one month, and the beer will never be brewed again after that.

An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not returned.
