Toppling Goliath Brewing Co. has joined forces with the Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum and Heritage Center to release a brand new IPA.
That beer is Valkyrie Strike, an IPA brewed with the heritage Norwegian yeast strain Kevik, while the label art was designed by local tattoo artist Brock Swenson. The new IPA is being released to commemorate the opening of Vesterheim’s brand new tattoo exhibit named Tattoo: Identity through Ink, which opens on June 1 at the Vesterheim and will “celebrate both the serious and sensational ways body art reverberates in our lives.”

Toppling Goliath is excited to announce the launch of a limited edition beer named Valkyrie Strike to mark the opening of Vesterheim's brand newtattoo exhibit. Tattoo: Identity through Ink, opens June 1 at Vesterheim, the national Norwegian-American museum and heritage center. This exhibit will celebrate both the serious and sensational ways body art reverberates in our lives. This new IPA was brewed using the heritage Norwegian yeast strain Kveik, and the label art was designed by local award-winning tattoo artist Brock Swenson. Toppling Goliath knows that the Vesterheim is an important part of the culture and tourism of Decorah and is always excited to work with the museum and has been working on this project for over a year. A beer release event will be held at the taproom on Saturday, May 18th giving guests a chance to try this exclusive beer on draft and purchase bottles. The event will feature sneak previews of Vesterheim’s tattoo exhibit, a short presentation by representatives from the museum, and a tattoo competition. Valkyrie Strike bottles will be sold at the TG taproom and the Vesterheim Museum Store exclusively for one month only. This unique Norwegian Kveik yeast IPA will not be brewed again, so make sure you get it while you can and join us on May 18th for a great evening of art and beer. @vesterheim.museum @brockstattooz
