Today is the day that fans of Toppling Goliath Brewing Co.’s most famous coffee and maple stout have been waiting for all year.
That is because Mornin’ Delight 2019 is being released today at Toppling Goliath’s taproom located in Decorah, Iowa. The 12 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with coffee and maple syrup was first released as a draft-only option in 2011 and was packaged for the first time in 2013 in 12-ounce bottles.
Tickets to the release event were obtained by entering an online lottery on July 8. Winners whose names were randomly chosen were then given the opportunity to purchase a $10 ticket to the release event.
This year’s Mornin’ Delight package cost $100 and includes two 22-ounce bottles of Mornin’ Delight 2019, a custom Mornin’ Delight 2019 glass and one pour of Mornin’ Delight 2019 during the event. Each lottery winner was able to purchase one ticket to the event, and there will be no proxies allowed.
The imperial stout was first released as a draft-only option in 2011 and was packaged in 12-ounce bottles in 2013, while the 2015 and 2016 incarnations were sold in 22-ounce bottles. However, the 2017 incarnation was packaged in a set priced at $100 that included one four-pack of waxed 12-ounce bottles, two glasses and one pour of the stout with only 2,000 sets available and the 2018 release was priced at $100 and included a two-pack of 22-ounce bottles, one branded glass and one pour of the stout.
In addition, purchasers of tickets to last year’s event were able to buy a “guest ticket” to the release event that allowed each guest to also purchase a $100 package of their own.
