After more than two years of work, Toppling Goliath Brewing Co.’s new brewery is officially opening for business this week.

The new 52,000-square-foot facility is located in the same town as its previous brewery—Decorah, Iowa—and includes close to 26,000-square-feet of brewing space, an 8,500-square-foot taproom and an estimated 11,000-square-feet set aside for the purpose of distribution and storage. In addition, the brewery added a balcony to its original plans, which will increase the grand total number of people the taproom can hold to approximately 750.

The Deborah City Council approved the project in May 2016. The new facility is also where winners of this year’s Assassin 2018 lottery will be picking up their bottles of the barrel-aged imperial stout when it is released on March 31.

According to a post on Toppling Goliath’s Twitter page, the new facility located at 1600 Prosperity Road is set to open on Feb. 10 at noon. In addition, Toppling Goliath has said it will have to close its original taproom on College Drive due to state laws governing taprooms.
