The newest version of one of the most famous barrel-aged stouts in the world will be released before the end of next month.

In an email, Toppling Goliath Brewing Co. founder Clark Lewey told Tenemu that SR-71 2018 will be released “before the end of July” and that it will be a silent release, with “one clue on twitter (at midnight) the night before the release.” The stouts will then be sold on a first come, first served basis until they are sold out.

First released in 2013, the newest incarnation of SR-71 is an imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels and packaged in 22-ounce bottles. The stout’s moniker comes from Lewey’s time spent in the Air Force and is named after the ultra-secret Lockheed SR-71 “Blackbird” supersonic aircraft developed in the 1960’s.

While he declined to comment on pricing for SR-71 2018, according to Lewey, there will be a purchase limit of one bottle per person when it is released.
