Toppling Goliath Brewing Co. might have a couple of surprises for the winners of the Assassin 2018 lottery when they show up at the brewery next month.

The Decorah, Iowa-based brewery has filed labels for 375ml bottles of two Assassin variants: Vanilla Assassin 2018, an imperial stout conditioned on vanilla beans and aged in whiskey barrels; and Muerte Dulce Assassin 2018, an imperial stout conditioned on cinnamon, peppers, vanilla beans and sea salt. As the names suggest, both are variants of Toppling Goliath’s extremely popular Assassin, a 12 percent ABV imperial stout aged in whiskey barrels that was first released in 2012.

While there has been no confirmation on release details of Vanilla Assassin 2018 and Muerte Dulce Assassin 2018, Toppling Goliath has released Assassin variants during previous Assassin events that attendees could purchase exclusively for on-site enjoyment.

Winners of the online lottery for Assassin 2018 that closed earlier this week will each get one of the 1,500 allotments priced at $100 that includes two 22-ounce bottles of the barrel-aged imperial stout that is scheduled to  be released on March 31 at the brewery’s new taproom and brewery located in Decorah, Iowa.

An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
