A former draft-only variant of an extremely popular creation from The Lost Abbey may be headed to bottles.
According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB),that beer is Rum Barrel-Aged Angel’s Share, a 14 percent ABV barleywine-style ale that has been aged in rum barrels for “no less than nine months” that will be packaged in 750ml bottles. The ale was first released as a draft-only option back in 2016, but this is the first time it will have been packaged.
As the name implies, the base beer is the San Marcos, Calif.-based brewery’s Angel’s Share, a barrel-aged barleywine that has been aged in many different types of barrels over the years, including bourbon barrels, Scotch barrels and brandy barrels.
An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
