SweetWater Brewing Co. is heading west.
The Atlanta, Ga.-based brewery has announced it is partnering with Silver Eagle Distributors to bring its beers to the metro area markets of Houston and San Antonio.
“We couldn’t be happier to finally land in Texas,” said Dave Guender, SweetWater vp of sales, in a press release.
“Positioning ourselves to make the move westward was thrilling but also involved months of meticulous planning and market research. We’re confident that our partnership with Silver Eagle will help us make the best splash possible in these new Texas markets.”
The first of Sweetwater’s beers to hit the market in Texas will be 420 Extra Pale Ale (5.4 percent ABV), SweetWater IPA (6.3 percent ABV), SweetWater Blue wheat ale (4.9 percent ABV) and Take Two Pils pilsner(5.5 percent ABV). In addition, the brewery will be shipping boxes of its SweetWater Tackle Box variety pack, which is “a hefty 12-pack collection featuring three of SweetWater’s favorite year round brews, along with a fourth catch and release seasonal specialty in each box.”
“Silver Eagle Distributors is thrilled to be partnering with SweetWater to bring a robust line-up of quality beers into the Houston and San Antonio markets,” said John L. Nau III, president and ceo of Silver Eagle Distributors.
“The brewer’s line-up of flavor profiles will have every Texan in our markets finding something just right for his or her taste buds. In addition to the great beer that will be flowing soon, we admire SweetWater for its passion and service to the community and look forward to working with its team on many great endeavors in the future.”
According to the press release, SweetWater will host events from Feb. 23 through Feb. 28 in both Houston and San Antonio, with packaged beers shipping to Texas soon after.
