A new beer from Surly Brewing Co. pays tribute to the all time coldest temperature in the state of Minnesota.

The appropriately named beer is 60 Below Rye IPA, a 6 percent ABV “hardy” rye IPA that commemorates the temperature of -60 degrees that occurred on Feb. 2, 1996 in Tower, Minn. Surly released another rye IPA as a draft-only option earlier this year named Thanks Obama, a 6.5 percent ABV “winter rye IPA” brewed with experimental hop 06297.

According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), 60 Below Rye IPA will be packaged in 12-ounce cans. When reached for comment, a spokesperson for Surly declined to comment on any details.
