This fall, Surly Brewing Co. will be celebrating its fourteenth anniversary with an appropriately named beer.
According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), that creation is Fourteen, an 11 percent ABV barleywine-style ale that haas been aged in Parker Heritage Wheat whiskey barrels.
The predecessors in the Anniversary Series are:
- 2007 – One – Quadruple Bock
- 2008 – Two – Oak aged Stour with Cranberries
- 2009 – Three – Braggot
- 2010 – Four – Double Espresso Stout
- 2011 – Five – Brett Dark Ale2012 – Sÿx – American Strong Ale
- 2013 – Seviin – Belgian Strong Ale with Brett
- 2014 – Eight – Oat Wine Aged in Rye Barrels
- 2015 – Nein – Imperial Smoked Dunkelweizen
- 2016 – Ten – Old Ale
- 2017 — Eleven — Belgian-style Quad Ale
- 2018 — Twelve — Imperial Pilsner
- 2019 — Thirteen —
- 2020 — Fourteen — Barleywine-style Ale aged in Parker Heritage Wheat whiskey barrels
Per Surly’s 2020 release calendar and the aforementioned beer label, Fourteen will be packaged in 16-ounce cans that are scheduled to be released in October.
