The newest incarnation of Stone Brewing Co.’s popular seasonal stout inspired by Mexican hot chocolate has started shipping.

Xocoveza Mocha Stout 2019 is an 8.1 percent ABV milk stout brewed with English challenger and English East kent holdings hops as well as cocoa, pasilla peppers, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, lactose, coffee and a “generous amount of our own in-house made chocolate.” It was last seen in October 2018 and is based on the recipe of Chris Banker, who won the 2014 Stone Homebrew Competition.

According to a post on Stone’s Facebook page, Xocoveza Mocha Stout 2019 is packaged in six-packs of 12-ounce cans as well as 22-ounce bottles. The stout will be released first at all of Stone’s locations on Sept. 20 and is scheduled to begin shipping to retailers nationwide “later this month.”
