Stone Brewing Co. has shipped a new IPA that commemorates both the company’s 20th anniversary as well as its flagship San Diego brewery.
The new beer is named 20th Anniversary Citracado IPA, a 9 percent ABV double IPA brewed with centennial, Citra, El Dorado and nugget hops as well as avocado flower honey. The name of the IPA is taken from the location of Stone’s brewery which is located on Citracado Parkway, and is also a play on the two main ingredients in the beer.
“‘Cita’ refers both to the juicy gem of a hop and its citrusy (and tropical) aromas and flavors,” reads the beer label. “‘Cado’ inspired us to utilize wonderful, native avocado flower honey.”
According to a post on Stone’s website, 20th Anniversary Citracado IPA is packaged in 22-ounce bottles and has begun shipping to retailers throughout the brewery’s distribution network.
