Stone Brewing Co. has released its Totalitarian Imperial Russian Stout, a 10.6 percent ABV Russian imperial stout brewed with Belma and Magnum hops. The new beer uses Stone’s classic Russian Imperial Stout as its base, but adds both the Belma hops and flaked oats in order to intensify its “berry flavors and aroma while subtly introducing a juicy melon undertone.”

Since 2011, odd-numbered years have featured new variations of Stone’s base Imperial Russian Stout released in tandem with the classic version, including 2015’s release of Chai-Spiced Russian Imperial Stout, 2013’s Espresso Russian Imperial Stout and 2011’s Belgo Anise Russian Imperial Stout.

According to a post on Stone’s website, Stone Totalitarian Imperial Russian Stout will be packaged in both six-packs of 12-ounce bottles as well as 22-ounce bottles and is shipping to retailers across the brewery’s distribution network now.
