Almost one year after Stone Brewing Co. co-founder Greg Koch transitioned from ceo to executive chairman, a new ceo has been named.
The Escondido, Calif.-based brewery has chosen Dominic Engles as the new ceo, while co-founder Steve Wagner will remain president. Engles has held a multitude of positions over the years, including The Gap, Armour and management consulting firm McKinsey & Co. Most recently, Engles was president of POM Wonderful, a position he started in June 2015.
“We interviewed a lot of talented people who were interested in this role,” said Wagner, in a press release. “I was personally impressed with Dominic’s accomplishments and we connected right off the bat. He has a great skill set for the role and he is by far the best ‘cultural fit’ of anyone we talked to.”
According to Stone, Engles first day with the brewery will be Sept. 6.
