Stone Brewing Co. has released its first wit in bottles.
According to a press release, the Escondido, Calif.-based brewery has releasing Stone Citrusy Wit, a 5.3 percent ABV wit brewed with Amarillo, Centennial, Magnum and Mandarina Bavaria hops as well as tangerine, kaffir lime leaf and coriander. The new beer will join two other seasonal releases for the brewery: Stone Pataskala Red X IPA (7.3 percent ABV), which is available from February-May and Stone Coffee Milk Stout (5 percent ABV) which is available from October-December.
“This is the first time we’ve released a Belgian-style witbier for our fans nationwide,” said Mitch Steele, Stone brewmaster, in a press release. “We set out to create something very flavorful and refreshing for the summer months, set on creating a more innovative wit. First, we played around with tangerine and then the team landed on kaffir lime leaf to help punch it up even more with an intense citrus fruit flavor, all complemented by the beer’s subtle coriander spice character.”
Based on Stone’s 2016 Release Schedule and a press release, Citrusy Wit will be packaged in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles and will be available through September.
