After getting five variants of Southern Tier Brewing Co.’s most popular seasonal release last year, fans may be getting a brand new way to enjoy the ale this year.

According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the Lakewood, N.Y.-based brewery is working on releasing Pumking Nitro Imperial Pumpkin Ale, a 8.6 percent ABV imperial ale brewed with ale yeast, two different varieties of hops, two different malts, pumpkin and spices. The new version of the ale will be packaged in 16-ounce cans and will be carbonated using nitrogen instead of the more common CO2, which gives it a creamier texture.

The ale debuted in 2007 and is currently available packaged in both four-packs of 12-ounce bottles as well as 500ml bottles, the latter of which replaced the 22-ounce bottles that the beer was sold in until last year.

An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
