Southern Tier Brewing Co. will soon be releasing a new beer that promises to be the “juiciest, smoothest IPA on the menu.”
That new creation is Blueberry Whirl, a 6.5 percent ABV “milkshake IPA” brewed with barley, blueberries, oats, milk sugar and vanilla. According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the new beer will then be dry-hopped with a combination of Amarillo, Azacca, Citra and Mosaic hops before being packaged in 16-ounce cans.
The Lakewood, N.Y.-based brewery had previously added a similar beer to its Shake Series named Vanilla Whipp, a 6.5 percent ABV IPA brewed with milk sugar and vanilla before being dry-hopped with the same hop bill and sold in 16-ounce cans.
An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
