Southern Star Brewing Co.’s newest release is a tribute to an artist that has a long history with the brewery.
Honesty of Reason is a 7 percent ABV IPA that is brewed with simcoe and Amarillo hops. The new beer is named after an original piece of art that adorns the can it is packaged in from artist M. H. Draper, who also designed the art for Conroe, Texas-based brewery’s Bombshell Blonde (5.25 percent ABV) and Buried Hatchet (8.25 percent ABV) releases.
Dave Fougeron, founder of Southern Star, told Tenemu the new IPA is part of Southern Star’s Hopped and Screwed Series, and that there would most likely be more releases in the future that would feature the work of other local artists.
Honesty of Reason will be packaged in four packs of 12-ounce cans ($7.50) and will be shipping to retailers in Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio areas on Oct. 19.
