Just six weeks after details of a berliner beer brewed with kiwi emerged, Smuttynose Brewing Co. is at it again.
The Portsmouth, N.H.-based brewery will be releasing Cherry Short Weisse, a 4.9 percent ABV berliner-syle wheat ale brewed with cherries as well as Watermelon Short Weisse, a 4.9 percent ABV berliner-syle wheat ale brewed with watermelon.
As with the as yet unreleased Kiwi Short Weisse (4.9 percent ABV), the new beer is being released under Smuttynose’s Smuttlabs division, which was founded in 2012 as a place for “special projects that just don’t fit anywhere else,” according to the brewery.
Filings with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) show both new bottle-conditioned limited release will be packaged in 12.7-ounce bottles and will be bottled this month. An email sent to the brewery for additional details was not returned.
