Smuttynose Brewing Co.’s Smuttlabs division is growing by one.

According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Trucco is a 9.9 percent ABV saison aged in whiskey barrels with brettanomyces that was bottled in September.

As with the as yet unreleased Kiwi Short Weisse (4.9 percent ABV), the new beer is being released under Smuttynose’s Smuttlabs division, which was founded in 2012 as a place for “special projects that just don’t fit anywhere else, if a project is out of the ordinary, unique or time consuming, you can bet it’ll bear the Smuttlabs name.”

The new limited release from the Hampton, N.H.-based brewery will be packaged in 16.9-ounce bottles and will be bottled in September. An email sent to the brewery for additional details was not immediately returned.
