According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Sixpoint Brewery will be rereleasing its Barrel-Aged 4Beans, a imperial porter brewed with Madagascar vanilla beans, cacao husks Romano beans and coffee beans before being aged in both bourbon and rye whiskey barrels and packaged in 12-ounce cans.
The Brooklyn, N.Y.-based brewery originally released the barrel-aged porter as a brewery exclusive during its “Bean Day” that took place on Nov. 18, 2017.
The porter is an evolution of Sixpoint’s 3Beans imperial porter (10 percent ABV) released in 2013, which as it’s name implies, incorporated three different beans: cacao beans, coffee beans and Romano beans. The new beer is part of Sixpoint’s Mad Scientists Series, which began in 2010 and includes beers that have “a dynamic blend of art and science, at the intersection of craft and chemistry.”
An email sent to the brewery for additional details was not immediately returned.
