In early December, Sierra Nevada will release a new, churros-inspired imperial stout known as Dulce Cinnamon Stout. It was brewed with some Arizona friends of Sierra Nevada and is mostly intended for the Arizona market.
The beer is a blend of both of the brewery’s Barrel-Aged Narwhal imperial stout and Bourbon Barrel-Aged Bigfoot barleywine with both cinnamon and vanilla added. Clocking in at 12.7 percent ABV, this new offering draws inspiration from “the churros found at bakeries across the Southwest” according to labels filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB).
This release will be limited to roughly fifty cases with most going to Arizona, though some will head to the brewery’s three California stores: Chico, Mills River and Berkeley. Dulce Cinnamon Stout is been packaged in 750ml cork and cage bottles and is expected to come out in early December per Terence Sullivan, production manager for Sierra Nevada.
