Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. is jumping on the gose bandwagon.
The newest release is Otra Vez, a 4.5 percent ABV “tangy twist on the nearly extinct Gose-Style” ale that is brewed with prickly pear cactus and grapefruit. The name Otra Vez translates to again from Spanish.
“In California, where temperatures often top triple digits, perfecting the warm weather beer is a priority,” reads the beer label. “We happened upon a sweet-tangy blend of native-grown prickly pear cactus and grapefruit combined with the zing of a traditional gose for a vicious but delicious twist on the stodgy summer sippers.”
According to filings with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the new release from the Chico, Calif.-based brewery will be packaged in 12-ounce bottles. An email sent to the brewery for additional details was not immediately returned.
